It's the end of July!
If this summer were anything like the past two years (around this time), I would've have been gearing up to walk into a classroom. Making lesson plans, creating procedures, establishing lofty academic goals for my students, generally freaking out about being responsible for other people's children... I would be going into the classroom.
This year is different. (Obviously. I kind of set that up with the headline.)
I am unemployed. It's my four-letter word. One that is all too familiar for some. One that a lucky few can avoid.
I'm college-educated. I was enrolled in a highly-selective service program for 2 years. I've done the internships. And yet, here I am.
Unemployed.
